Experience the new approaches in bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, which the experts Dr Sabine Räker-Oese and Dr Annelie Hainel have developed together.

Experience approaches to bioidentical hormone therapy in the fields of thyroid and gynecology, focusing particularly on the influence of the menstrual cycle and the interplay of hormones, illustrated by numerous patient cases. Theoretical knowledge on the interaction between the thyroid and hormones, as well as the menstrual cycle and thyroid hormone therapy, will be provided as a foundation for understanding the case studies.

Agenda:

  • General interactions between the thyroid and the steroid hormone system
  • Theory on the menstrual cycle
  • Case discussion: Menstrual cycle influenced by the thyroid
  • Options for thyroid hormone therapy when T4 monotherapy fails
  • Case discussion: Thyroid management in cases of infertility
  • Theory on thyroid and fertility from a thyroidology perspective
  • Fertility from a gynecological perspective
  • Additional case discussions relevant to the topic

This seminar is aimed exclusively at doctors.

Abstract of the workshop:
Interaction of thyroid and sex hormones - theory and practice with case discussions"
The well-being of women in different life situations depends on many factors, whereby hormonal balance plays an important role. The reciprocal influence of steroid hormones and thyroid hormones on each other can lead to many complex symptom constellations in typical female complaints in the event of imbalances, e.g. cycle disorders, unfulfilled desire to have children, PMS, menopausal symptoms. For the therapist, this is often a challenge in diagnosis and therapy. The aim of the workshop is to explain the basics of the interrelationships from a gynaecological and thyreological perspective and to demonstrate therapeutic approaches using typical patient cases. The topic can be discussed in a practice-orientated way using practical cases from the participants.

Dr. Räker-Oese explains that bioidentical hormone therapy in everyday practice is a balance between patients' fears and misunderstandings about hormones and the effectiveness and simplicity of properly indicated therapy with endogenous hormones. She emphasizes the importance of natural hormonal processes such as fertility, pregnancy, and breastfeeding for well-being and incorporates these insights into her therapy concepts.

Dr. med. Anneli Hainel

Dr. med. Anneli Hainel

Dr. Anneli Hainel, MD, is a specialist in general medicine with an extensive professional background. She studied medicine at the University of Leipzig from 1989 to 1995 and completed her practical training in pediatric surgery at the University of Mainz and general surgery at the St. Vincenz and Elisabeth Hospital Mainz from 1995 to 1997. In 1997, she obtained her medical license and doctorate at the University Children's Clinic Leipzig. Between 1997 and 2001, she completed her specialist training in surgery, internal medicine, and general medicine, receiving her board certification in general medicine in 2001. From 2003 to 2011, Dr. Hainel worked at Prof. Hotze's private practice in Wiesbaden, specializing in thyroid diseases, gynecological and andrological endocrinology, preventive medicine, and diabetes prevention. Since July 2011, she has run her own private practice in Frankfurt and, since spring 2014, in Mainz.

Dr. Hainel is a recognized expert in the treatment of thyroid diseases, with approximately 20 years of experience in daily patient care. She is the author of the patient guide "Thyroid in Balance" and has been regularly giving lectures and seminars since 2014, sharing practical knowledge and patient-oriented approaches to thyroid therapy. According to her, thyroid therapy can be challenging due to the diverse and often nonspecific symptoms of patients. A deep understanding of the physiological and pathological processes in the thyroid is crucial for developing individualized treatment concepts. This is especially true for women with hormonal fluctuations, where an optimal interplay between hormones and the thyroid is essential for well-being.
